MHC Paranormal Ghost Tours Announced!

We’re back!!! Last year our Paranormal Ghost Hunt Tour sold out in just a few weeks and so we are going back again. We asked attendees last year if we should find other locations to tour and they responded with a rousing “Hell No, we want to go back”! So the trip is on, unfortunately just one bus of 50 people, so don’t wait; this awesome experience will sell out quickly.

MHC is hosting a bus tour to two of the most popular haunted building in Ohio; the Ohio State Reformatory and the Bissman Building in Mansfield. The bus departs from the Hyatt Regency Columbus at 9:30 am and returns by 6:00 pm for a day of Paranormal Ghost Tours.

This all day tour is only $79 and includes a charter bus ride, guided tours and lunch. Both attractions have been visited by several Ghost Tour Hunting groups and they’ve documented their visits on numerous TV shows. They’ve also hosted filming for several blockbuster movies.

Both of these buildings have documented numerous unexplained disturbances. Enter them at your own risk. The tours are not recommended for children or people with a heart condition or mental disabilities. Everyone will need to sign liability release forms on site.

Please join us at the Midwest Haunters Convention June 5 – 9 in Columbus, Ohio.

Tornado Damages Haunt in Illinois!

Breaking News: TORNADO DAMAGE PROMPTS URGENT SALE OF HAUNT ITEMS!
Ashmore Estates, Ashmore Illinois, suffered major damage from a tornado last night. It is owned by Scott, the “Spookmeister”, and Tanya Kelly. They lost the roof of the building, the clown maze, the concessions shed, and a camper. The family and animals are safe.

EVERYTHING MUST GO: they have to *immediately* sell all costumes, props, software, animations, the solar powered marquis sign, and all other haunt paraphernalia. Please call Scott 217-512-9499. They have no power and no access to Facebook, so please contact us via phone as necessary.

From Scott and Tanya: We can't check FB easily right now, so if you're asking what you can do to help, this is what you can do:

1. repost that we are selling all the props, costumes, and other haunt paraphernalia asap.

2. Come over any time today, and bring your gloves, mud boots and muscles. We need to move a lot of things very quickly.

3. Bring us cardboard cartons and boxes.

Thank you so much. Our grief and shock over these losses is eased by how you, our community of friends and loves ones, are reaching out to us.

Big Announcements From MHC!

Back in the summer of 2004 a relatively unknown event emerged from the darkness. It was known as the Midwest Haunters Convention  (MHC). This rather small gathering of ghouls took place inside Cooper Stadium, Columbus’ Minor League Baseball stadium and former home of the Columbus Clippers and Terror Park Haunted Attraction. This small assembly of fear had only 30 vendors, 25 classes and 300 attendees.  Last year  (2012), MHC  had 75 vendors, 40 classes and 2500 attendees!

2004 was also the beginning of our signature events  Bloody Mary’s Monster Make Up Wars and Ms. Scary Midwest.  After 9 fabulous years of competition we are celebrating our 10th year !  This year’s   Monster Make Up Wars will be open to any teams of three (two artists and a model) including  all teams from past years. We will draw five lucky teams at random  to compete. Applications will be accepted online now until March 16th. www.midwesthauntersconvention.com/events/monstermakeupwars/

Ms Scary Midwest is changing this year too!  We’re inviting all nine past pageant winners to compete exclusively for the title of the 10th Anniversary Ms. SCARIEST MIDWEST.    It promises to be the BEST OF THE BEST!

The Haunted Hoochie & Unit 70!!!

We’re excited to announce plans for a fantastic bus tour on Friday night, June 7.  We’re going to Unit 70 Studios and the Haunted Hoochie at Dead Acres!

Unit 70 is celebrating their 10th Anniversary this year and they’re anxious to show off their new building in Columbus. Bo Bruns and his crew are inviting our guests to see what goes on behind the scenes at one of the most creative haunted attraction prop manufacturers in the US.

Next, we’re going Haunted Hoochie at Dead Acres, the World’s Most Aggressive Haunted Attraction!  You’ll experience a full sensory assault with in your face horror.

We’ll wrap up the night with a party at the Hyatt. We’re finalizing costs now and hope to start selling this exciting activity very soon.

We’re still finalizing details, but this should be one of the highlights of the weekend. Watch for more info soon.
